The 2018 edition of Turisport concludes with great public success.
The 2018 edition of “Turisport“—a three-day event dedicated to sports and more, organized by the Centro Servizi Promozionali per le Imprese and CONI—has concluded with great public success.
The event’s 38th edition, which kicked off last Friday, transformed Cagliari’s exhibition grounds into a vast “open-air gym” in the city center, demonstrating how sport—and its promotion—can attract a broad audience, engaging not only schoolchildren and families but also drawing in tourists.
The public was the true star of “Turisport,” enjoying free access to this “celebration of sport” that brought together the Centro Servizi Promozionali per le Imprese (a special agency of the Cagliari Chamber of Commerce), CONI, and other institutional partners—such as the Department of Tourism, Crafts, and Commerce. The latter was present at the fair with twelve institutional exhibitors in Pavilion I, demonstrating that sport can serve as a vehicle to promote the island as an ideal destination for active tourism throughout the year.
In addition to the exhibition areas dedicated to the theme of sport, the displays curated by the armed forces were particularly well-received, featuring the participation of the Italian Army, the Carabinieri, the Air Force, the Navy, the Guardia di Finanza, the Coast Guard, and the State Police.
On the final day of “Turisport,” the spotlight will be on the competitions and demonstrations prepared by the more than thirty sports federations participating in the event. At 5:00 PM, meanwhile, the “Volleyball Grand Gala” will take place (Tola-Sulis Hall), featuring the awards ceremony for key figures in Sardinian volleyball for the 2017/2018 season. As usual, the event concludes with live music performed on the central stage of the Arena in Fiera.
